Welcome to the Relentless Sea Explorers’ page for Scouts aged 14 to 18. The Unit is linked to 4th New Forest North (Eling) Group.
Explorer Scouts usually meet in Totton on Tuesday nights, but owing to the varied nature of the programme and the joint events with other units, meetings may be held in other locations on other nights.
Members will concentrate on developing social and leadership skills as well as advanced nautical skills.
With the support, direction and guidance of Unit leaders, Explorer Scouts are encouraged to lead themselves, design their own programme and work towards the top awards that Scouting offers. These four awards are the Chief Scout’s Platinum Award, Chief Scout’s Diamond Award, Explorer Belt and Queen’s Scout Award. The County also offers opportunities to complete the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award as well as challenging Expeditions in some of the remotest corners of the globe.
The World Scout Jamboree, held every four years and in West Virginia USA in 2019, enables Explorer Scouts to meet with up to 40,000 Scouts from around the globe and experience their different cultures.
Explorer Scouts may volunteer to help other sections of the movement as Young Leaders, where they can develop their leadership skills.
