The Scout Section is for young people, both boys and girls, aged between 10½ and 14 years.  You do not need to have been a Beaver or Cub before.  WANT TO JOIN?

Kayaking, sailing, camping and hiking – just some of the outdoor activities you can enjoy as a Scout in the Warrior Troop. Being  a Sea Scout Group we naturally focus on our nautical skills, but our Scouts still experience the full Scouting programme, which is aimed at developing their outdoor skills and sense of adventure.  We make great use of our wonderful location, with a lake only metres from our HQ and the varied expanse of the New Forest only a short drive away.

There is a wide range of activity badges available, from abseiling to zorbing, whilst the nine Challenge Awards lead to completion of the Chief Scout’s Gold Award.

The Troop proudly bears the name of HMS Warrior – now preserved in Portsmouth..  Warrior Troop runs a full programme of boating, including sailing, pulling, kayaking and raft-building,  from Spring through until the Autumn, a summer camp as well as taking part in County and National Sea Scouting competitions, such as sailing and pulling regattas and competitive swimming events.  We also enjoy going to District and County Camps where we meet up with Scouts from across Hampshire.

Every eighteen months the Troop, with a number of Beavers, Cubs and Explorers are inspected by Royal Navy Officers to ensure the troop meets the high standard demanded by the RN Recognition Scheme.

The troop meets every Monday and Friday nights in Totton at 7.0 pm with a break from meetings in October. Boating activities will normally be at Testwood Lakes from Spring through to early Autumn and include weekend sessions.
