The last push

With 11 days to go until the official opening, there are still lots of smaller jobs to do.  All of a sudden, what previously seemed to be "oh, plenty of time to get that done, it is only a little job" turns into "wow, what a lot of little jobs we need to get done in such a short time".

The Finishing Touches

Green Side Up!

Last Saturday a small team of volunteers transformed the lake side of the site with a brand new lawn.

The finished results look fantastic - see below!

2013 Donkey Derby

Some photos from the 18th Annual Donkey Derby held in May 2013.
DD 1 PB Great weather helped us to a record crowd at Eling Recreation Ground. All the old favourite attactions were there and of course the donkeys never stopped entertaining the crowd. The event is our major opportunity to fundraise and makes a huge contribution to the development of our new Aquativity centre at Testwood Lakes. Thanks to all our helpers and sponsors.

Not quite there yet!

Saturday 25th May, working party at the new building.

Whilst we are very close to completing the building, it is always the final stages that seem to take more effort, so if you can spare a few hours this Saturday to help out please come and join us.

2013 Donkey Derby is Great Success

Brillian sunshine, record crowds and a great sense of fun!

The 18th Donkey Derby proved to be even more successful than last year's record event. 4300 people made their way to Eling Recreation Ground to enjoy our big fundraising event.

They weren't disappointed, as the Donkeys proved to be even more playful than ever, and even more unwilling to complete the course.  Click here to see the Daily Echo article.

Lights, trailers, showers, notice boards...

...and more finishing touches - closer to completion every day.  Tonight's review of progress shows a few more highlights from the last couple of weeks.

Finishing touches continue

Since the last update here, finishing the various rooms and facilities in the Aquativity Centre has continued.  A few highlights include good progress with the internal plumbing for toilets, basins, showers etc., completing the flooring (the foyer, for example, has been transformed with a hard-wearing carpet) and getting towards the completion of the what has seemed to be an endless task of the electrical wiring and fittings.

Back into the boating season

While the building gets finished off, Scouts and Explorers are back into their boating season.  Good to see the lake in use again.
