The Great Thames Row - Day 2

Up 06:00 after poor nights sleep cold, noisy by weir, cramp in legs and to top it all what some people would call a beautiful dawn chorus. After a shower and a cereal breakfast its back in the boat As we left the site given first donation by other campers.
Start rowing amazingly not stiff and no aches and pains. We row on hard and are met by our wives and kids at Iffley lock.
Nice lunch with families then back in the boat My brother and his wife been a great help again striking camp with Phil, shopping and pitching new site . After a few more locks all manned we reach the site after another 7 hours on the water

The Great Thames Row - Day 1 afternoon

Camera fitted we set off again witth some filming.
After a few more locks 18:00 arrived at Eynsham Lock bang on time as the kettle had just boiled

The Great Thames Row - Day 1

07:30 Left Riverside close
09:30 arrived Lechlade
10:30 left to start the first days row
Weather bright sunshine not what we wanted. Set off at a reasonable pace reached first lock in 15 mins. Unmaned we had to work out how to use it. We got through and set of to second lock where we met our support team. On route we realised that we had forgotten to fit the camera on to the boat. Left the lock at 11:30 for the swan where Phil was going to meet us with the camera.

Messing about on the river - today - 3 May

£274 raised by Philthebag

Just some of the material collected

The recent Phil the Bag event raised an amazing £274 - thanks to all who contributed.

We'll be having another one later in the year. Please don't throw anything away (shoes, bags, towels, any material, school uniform, tea towels, odd socks........) - we need it all to help raise funds.
