New Pontoon at the lakes

Disabled access for Sailability users

After many years of fundraising and negotiation we are pleased that the pontoon to give disabled boaters, access to the water has finally been installed.

Eling Sea Scouts share the water with Sailability, a trust offering sailing sessions for disabled sailors using specially adapted boats that are accessible to all. The club is open to all irrespective of disability or experience and cater for individual sailors and those from groups such as day centres or disability charities.

Earlier in the Summer the Scouts were enjoying the lakes with more BCU and RYA qualifications being awarded. Taster sessions for parents, helpers and younger members of the Group have also been arranged.
