The Great Thames Row - the final day - £1685 raised so far!

The final day up at 6:30 set off at 7:30 a good pace to make the final lock at Teddington in time for high water.

08:15 Through the lock and on to tidal water. Does not seem that fast but as we reach Richmond the ebb starts and the speed picks up . We seem to be flying through Twickenham ,Kew and on to Fulham. We complete the boat race course without realising it. Then on in towards Chelsea. Even as we stop rowing to eat or drink the boat doesn't seem too slow.

The Great Thames Row - Day 4

08 :30 Set off fo another days row weather is surprisingly still good. We stop 8 miles into the day at Boulters lock where we meet Iain and Liz from Help For Heroes at Tedworth House. They have come up with a double kayak an are planning to do 10 miles with us. Great to have some company

The Great Thames Row - Day 3 pt 2

Up early! On the water by 0730. This will be the longest day. Arrange to meet up with every one at Whitchurch lock and set off for the first 13 mile section, leaving Phil, Keith and Linda to strike camp. We set of at a good pace through Days and then Benson Locks. Later we are contacted by the support to say it not possible to access Whitchurch Lock easily so they will meet us at Goring.

The Great Thames Row - Day 3

No  information on progress today so far but we do have a picture!

The Great Thames Row - Day 1

07:30 Left Riverside close
09:30 arrived Lechlade
10:30 left to start the first days row
Weather bright sunshine not what we wanted. Set off at a reasonable pace reached first lock in 15 mins. Unmaned we had to work out how to use it. We got through and set of to second lock where we met our support team. On route we realised that we had forgotten to fit the camera on to the boat. Left the lock at 11:30 for the swan where Phil was going to meet us with the camera.

£274 raised by Philthebag

Just some of the material collected

The recent Phil the Bag event raised an amazing £274 - thanks to all who contributed.

We'll be having another one later in the year. Please don't throw anything away (shoes, bags, towels, any material, school uniform, tea towels, odd socks........) - we need it all to help raise funds.

Barn Dance 1st March 2014

Over 60 adults and children danced the night away and over £250 was raised. Thanks to Lynda Bowen for supplying the entertainment, West Totton Community Centre for the seating and the fundraising team for the ploughman's supper.
